Part of the chain of Courses belonging to the “Open Golf Club”, Golf de la Grande Bastide welcomes visitors and is ranked one of the best courses in all of the Cote d’Azur region of the French Riviera. Architects Robert Trent Jones and Cabell b. Robinson collaborated in the design of this carefully laid out course that blends in with the natural environment of the gently undulating terrain. It features wide but long fairways, well protected with bunkers from the drive, as well as the approaches to the greens. Seven different lakes will come into play and some of the bunkers are large and deep giving even the most experienced golfer a real challenge. It plays 5,416 m from the men’s Yellow Tee’s and 5,929 from the White and the Slope Rating is 121.
The staff here in all areas of service stand out as very friendly and competent. The Clubhouse offers all the necessary services one would expect including a Pro Shop, Bar, Tea Room, Locker Rooms and a fine Restaurant. A Beverage Cart is always easy to find as you’re out playing. Practice Chipping, Putting Greens and a Driving Range are available along with offering Caddie service if you so desire. The panoramic views of the surrounding villages as you go around the course just add to the overall nice experience of playing golf here as well as, the excellent condition of the Fairways and Greens. Overall, it is one of the best bargains in the South of France.
